If you plan to study in Indonesia, you will need to apply for a student visa.

This visa is issued for one year with a mandatory annual extension during the training period.

To get it, you must have a copy of the Director’s identity card and a copy of the license of the educational institution where you will study.

Attention! You can only get a student visa after you h ave been officially enrolled in an educational institution or have been accepted into an educational program in Indonesia.

KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) for the Purpose of Studying in Indonesia

To study in Indonesia a foreign student must fulfill following requirements:

The documents required to process Student KITAS are as follows:

  1. Copy of passport of student (minimum validity of 18 months for 1 year and 36 months for 2 years Student KITAS);
  2. Copy of Birth Certificate and Family Register of student;
  3. 2 (two) passport sized (4cmX6cm) photographs in white background;
  4. Copy of passports of parents/sponsor;
  5. Statement Letter signed by sponsor which confirms the financial guarantee during the stay in Indonesia;
  6. Statement Letter signed by student to confirm that student will not engage in working activities during the stay in Indonesia;
  7. Acceptance Letter from the Indonesian Educational Institute;
  8. Recommendation from Secretariat General of Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Indonesia;
  9. Copy of previous transcripts and educational certificates; and

 

Processing time:

Stage 1

Processing of E-Visa at Directorate of Jakarta Immigration takes 15 to 25 working days. When Electronic E-Visa is ready, we will send it to you by email.

Stage 2

Since this system has been implemented, you no longer need to pay fees at the Indonesian embassy, because by having an electronic visa, you can now travel directly to Indonesia. Once the E-visa is issued, Indonesia Visa the applicant will have 90 days to enter Indonesia.  

Final stage

After entering Indonesia, the applicant handovers the original passport to and Indonesia Visa will register the KITAS. During this process applicant will be visiting Immigration office once for Biometrics and interview. This final stage of the process takes approximately 10 to 15 working days until the Electronic-KITAS is issued (depending on Immigration system)
